India have suffered a major setback ahead of the third and final ODI against England as all-rounder Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the series due to a hamstring injury. The injury occurred during the second 3rd ODI between England and India at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff.

BCCI stated:
“Washington sustained a right hamstring injury during the second ODI at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, and has been ruled out of the remainder of the series. He will undergo scans and seek a specialist opinion for further management of his injury.”
Sundar’s unavailability leaves India with a selection challenge ahead of the series decider at Lord’s. The team management will now have to decide on a suitable replacement as they look to secure another 3rd ODI series victory on English soil.
