The Duleep Trophy is regarded as India’s premier first-class tournament on the domestic circuit. The inaugural edition took place in 1961-62, with 62 editions successfully completed to date. The 2026-27 edition of the Duleep Trophy will commence on August 23 (Sunday).
Six teams will participate in the tournament: Central Zone, North Zone, West Zone, South Zone, East Zone and North East Zone. East Zone will face North East Zone in the opening match, while North Zone and West Zone will meet in the second quarter-final on the same day.
The Duleep Trophy 2026-27 will officially launch India’s red-ball domestic season and feature several leading Indian cricketers.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, Mohammed Shami, Ishan Kishan, Rajat Patidar, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Tilak Varma and several other prominent players will feature in the competition. Before the tournament begins, here is a look at the squads of all six teams.
