The region also celebrated a historic milestone by winning its first Ranji Trophy in February 2026. Born in Bijbehara, Jammu and Kashmir, Parvez Rasool became the first cricketer from the region to represent India in international cricket. His consistent performances in domestic cricket and for India A earned him an ODI call-up in 2014.
Rasool made his ODI debut against Bangladesh in Mirpur in June 2014, where he claimed 2/60. However, he was subsequently left out of the national team. He later earned a place in India’s T20I squad and made his debut against England in 2017. In what became his only T20I appearance, he took 1/32.
Rasool continued playing domestic cricket for several years before announcing his retirement from all forms of cricket in October 2025, bringing an end to a notable career.

Umran Malik rose to prominence with his remarkable pace, regularly crossing the 150 km/h mark during the IPL.
